Il Betto
Merlot IGP
DESCRIPTION:
Betto, made from pure Merlot grapes from the southernmost parcels of the vineyard, has a dark ruby red colour with cardinal highlights. The nose reveals intense and complex aromas of ripe red fruit including black cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant, floral notes of dried fruits interwoven with nuances of liquorice, cocoa and coffee. In the mouth it is complex, concentrated, round and warm, characterised by fine tannins and a lingering finish of considerable intensity. Betto is a Merlot with great body and character, but at the same time fresh and balanced.
After alcoholic fermentation and maceration on the skins in temperature-controlled stainless steel containers, Betto is aged in medium-toasted French oak barriques for at least eight months. It is then bottled and matured in the bottle for a further 6 months before release.
